House dust mites also known as HDM or simply dust mites like to live in our beds because it is warm and they can eat dander. They are microscopic we can’t see them but their feces can cause allergic reactions in some people. These organisms feed on the dead skin cells of humans, pets and microorganisms. Dust mites can cause asthma, conjunctivitis and dermatitis.
It is very troublesome to live with allergies all the time. Some may even be life threatening or at least weakening. Stuffed toys are another spot where dust mites live. This is very crucial since stuffed toys are your children’s playmates. Kids are the easiest target of these dust mites and they can actually develop right away some allergic reactions.

Let’s start with your bed and pillows by always washing its encasings regularly with hot water to kill every dust mite in them since they cannot endure high temperatures. Clean the mattress by using a vacuum cleaner with HEPA filter so that you won’t spread dust mites further.
The same thing goes to your carpets and curtains. Carpets are too heavy and large to be washed and vacuuming can only do so much. With your thick and heavy curtains you can always have it dry cleaned in a laundry station once every 2 weeks but make sure you regularly vacuum them to lessen the dust mites.
Lots of people love stuffed toys both children and children at heart. Let us be more concerned with children, always make sure you get them cleaned regularly. You may seal them in a clear plastic bags or anything alike to avoid the hassle of washing and vacuuming them every now and then.
